Tax advice

Looking ahead instead of filling in afterwards

A tax return looks back; tax advice looks ahead. We think along with you about your business structure, your investments and the moment you hand over your business. So you do not find out in March what you should have done differently in October.

What we do

What we help you with

No theory, but choices with the numbers worked out. These are the topics we discuss most often.

  • Business structure

Sole trader or bv? We work out the numbers for you.

  • Investments

The right moment, the right deduction.

  • Your director's salary

An amount that is defensible and works out favourably.

  • Company car

Taxable benefit, mileage or driving privately after all.

  • Business succession

Handing over without tax surprises afterwards.

  • Objections and appeals

Disagree with an assessment? We will fight it for you.

  • Unsolicited advice

If we see an opportunity in your figures, we call you.

Business succession

Handing over or selling your business

Who will take over your business when you stop? It is wise to think about this years in advance, because the tax structure you need cannot be built in a few months. For a transfer within the family, the business succession scheme also applies, which under certain conditions removes a large part of the gift or inheritance tax.

If you sell to a third party, we advise you throughout the process and mediate between buyer and seller. We prepare the important decisions together, so you do not discover halfway through that a structure is not right.

Advice on big decisions

A sounding board, too

Not all advice is about tax. We also carry out business analyses, run the numbers on investment plans and think along with you on a merger, an acquisition or a meeting with the bank. Honestly and backed by the figures, even when the outcome is not what you hoped.

If your business is going through a rough patch, do not wait until things are no longer working. A business is often healthy at its core, and there are more options than you can see at that moment. The sooner you call, the more options remain.

Proactive

You do not have to ask

With us, advice is not a separate product that starts the meter running. If we see something in your figures that could be better, we call you. If the law changes in a way that affects your situation, you hear it from us before it takes effect.

That is only possible if we know your business well. That is why you have one fixed point of contact who knows what is going on with you, not someone different every year.

Transparent about costs

What it costs

For clients whose administration we handle, most advice is included in the fixed monthly fee. Calling with a question costs you nothing, and that is deliberate. A business owner who does not call for fear of the bill is exactly the one who ends up paying too much.

For larger projects, such as a business transfer or a restructuring, we agree a fixed price in advance. So you always know where you stand before we start.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about our firm

Want to know something else? Call us and you will get an answer straight away.

What does tax advice normally cost?

Tax advisers' hourly rates are usually between 125 and 250 euros, and a project such as a business transfer quickly runs into thousands. That is exactly why many business owners only call when it is too late to change anything. So we work with fixed prices and do not start the meter for a quick question.

What exactly is tax advice?

Tax advice is advice on how to arrange your affairs so you do not pay more tax than necessary. It is about choices you make in advance: your legal form, when to invest, how you pay yourself and how you will one day hand over your business. A tax return records what has happened; advice shapes what is going to happen.

What is the difference between a tax adviser and a bookkeeper?

A bookkeeper processes what has happened; a tax adviser thinks about what still needs to happen. With us, both work in the same office, so the adviser thinking along with you has your figures right in front of them. That saves explaining and it saves mistakes.

When should I switch to a bv?

Roughly from a structural profit of around 100,000 euros a year, a bv becomes more attractive for tax purposes than a sole proprietorship, but that figure is not set in stone. Liability, plans to hire staff or to sell one day weigh just as heavily. We work out both options for your situation.

Can I object to a tax assessment?

Yes, within six weeks of the date of the assessment. That deadline is strict, so do not wait. We first assess whether an objection stands a chance, then file it and discuss it with the inspector on your behalf.

Will you think along with me if I am not a client yet?

Yes. The introductory meeting is free and without obligation. If you come with a specific question, you will simply get an answer to it in that meeting.
